Why not try one of our 'good enough to eat' natural face/hair/body mask recipes and get your glow on.
1. Banana, Yoghurt and Olive Oil
Bananas have amazing skin benefits (just don't eat too many). They are packed with nutrients and vitamins to help fight blemishes, eliminate dryness and even skin tone. Yoghurt containing lactic acid helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles helping to reveal bright glowing skin.
1-2 tbsp of plain yoghurt
1 tbsp of olive oil
Mash banana, yoghurt and add olive oil together. Mix and mash well until combined. Spread evenly on the face and leave for around 20 minutes or until dry. If you're planning on rinsing in the shower, add the remaining mixture to your hair for added shine!
2. Lemon, Honey and Coconut Oil
Honey and lemon are one of the most common household/garden ingredients and essential for clear skin. Lemon helps to remove dead skin cells whilst honey has antibacterial properties helping to fight free radical damage on the skin. Coconut oil is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and moisturising.
1-2 tbsp of honey
1 tbsp of coconut oil
Mix together the juice of lemon and honey together in a bowl till combined. If needed, melt coconut oil in a pan or microwave and add to lemon and honey mixture. Apply all over the face and body remembering to avoid your eyes! Let it soak for around 30 minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water. Pat dry with a towel and apply your favourite moisturiser to really hydrate your skin. Store remaining mixture in your fridge for up to a month, it feels amazing cold!
3. Avocado, Oatmeal and Flaxseed oil
Oatmeal, avocado and flax are some of the most nourishing ingredients around. Oatmeal helps to soothe and reduce redness whilst the avocado moisturises and helps reduce inflamed skin among other things. Flaxseed oil elevates dry and itchy skin, making this mask ultra soothing and calming.
½ ripe avocado
½ cup oatmeal
1 tbsp of Flaxseed oil
Cook oats as per packet instructions and allow to cool down. Mash avocado, add flaxseed oil and add to the cooked oats. Mix well until it forms an even consistency. Apply to your skin and leave it on for around 10-15 minutes or until it dries. After, rinse it off with lukewarm water and dry your skin.
